A friend of mine and I went on the St Lawrence (on an island) Thurs late afternoon. We ended a fun but cold (-14c) hunt with a few ducks and 2 geese...

The bay was freezing over during the hunt, and on the way home, our little aluminum "SS Hard Core" briefly became an ice breaker... :D

Nice.

Friday we put the boat into the water at the closest opening we could and made the long run 5km to the Brother Islands. It sure was cold. But you can't beat a late season hunt on the big water.

I hunted along the eastern end of Howe Island this morning. We ended out the season sitting on shore at the boat launch hunting. 2.5" of ice kept us from crosing the channel to the island.

This year sure was strange. What a cold snap!
