Well I shouldn't say weekend, it was more like 1.1 days :? Both Don and Sue were delayed in arriving due to snow in northern N.Y. so By the time we shoveled the very steep driveway to the cottage, and got Don's FORD unstuck    (Not the Chevy)we finally got the boat in the water at about 2:30 3:00 pm we had to launch at McFarland and make the run to the ferry, so once we got there set up it was 4:00 pm :? We ran a four rod spread I insisted that we run a DR.DEATH...Roughrider calls them a carp lure, the only thing they catch are sheep’s head  well about 3/4 of a hour into the troll the rod I was sitting beside goes off ....I was starting to think Don was right the fish that I had on the end of the rod was putting up a heck of a fight when we got it close to the boat we could see a nice walleye, in the net she went, my first Double digit Walleye this year..12 LBS and 31.5 inches long, after a few pictures, back she went. That was it for the day we packed up and went back to the camp. After we finished shoveling the very long driveway, we were met as we went inside to great big hot massive bowl of spaghetti and meatballs( Thanks Sue) :D :D
Sunday morn…up at 5:00 am sitting at the ferry by 5:45am waiting to catch the first ride across , after launching at Glenora , we worked the water up the reach, marking fish every where but no takers :( …..we saw Super Dad, and gave him a Call on the radio, they were busy…we never heard from him again, we changed up baits, move to smaller ones, I think the smaller baits were in the water for about 10 Min when Don spotted the planner board acting funny…Mike was on the rod in a flash , after a short battle the fish was in the net…a new personal best for Topwater…and very first double digit walleye 10 LBS :D :D
After a few more pictures back she went, the was about a hour later the same rod goes of Mike was on it again, another Personal best….11.3 Lbs Mike’s second double digit walleye, Both Mike and I had to be home for Chores so at 2 PM we packed it in…just we were packing up the rod fires again…Don is up and he picks up a very long 9.9 LBS walleye, we trailered the boat, said a very quick goodbye as the ferry was loading for the back trip, so dumping all my equipment on the hood of Old Blue and very rushed goodbye…we sat and watch Don sail off into the Sunset on the Glenora ferry .

I want to thank Don and Sue for a great weekend ,this was the first time I met Sue, what a sweetheart I was met with a big hug…now that I think about it..I think the hug was for OH THANK GOD I DON’T HAVE TO GO OUT IN THE COLD AND FISH
Just kidding   , Both Don and I are already starting to organize for next years trip :D

Topwater will post the pictures

Big-O,
Thanks for the report...
I was trolling near the north shore of the ferry on Sunday with Dan Elliot in his 22ft Ranger Comanche  We came up beside you guys, but I figured you would not recognise the boat. We only trolled for an hour and a half and caught one fish on a small yo-zuri crank and then headed back in.

Glad to hear Roughrider made it through the snow. I figured the lake effect snow would be a problem coming up from Pennsylvania.

Time for my boat to go away until walleye opens in April, to much road salt on the roads for me

Cheers'

-Sheldon

Sheldon... we were looking for your boat and we tried to call you on your cell, no answer , not the greatest day out there on sunday, but I was happy to see the four fish , it was a lot better than the last trip...( 1 Sheepshead :D ) I might try for one more trip...well maybe 2 :D the water temps are still high...so it looks like it will January before the ice get to thick to break thru to get to open water :!:

Nice to hear that Mrs. Roughrider made the trip, too. I know she went last year, and recall the pics.
