Im planning on a trip to darling long lake. Id like to lnow if anyone has canoed through the long lake creek that runs from white lake to darling long lake. Ill be doing some fishing but mainly looking for a quiet place to drink some beer and here thr loons and the owls.

Id also like to know if anyone has been to the two smaller lakes thst are attached to the creek? There is darling round lake and big mud lale.

Pm me if youd like, im not trying to take anyones honey hole, just a place to relax and enjoy the outdoors

Thanks, andrew

i've fished darling long twice and did not catch a brown.
sometimes the trail to the lake can be blocked at the 511 by a locked gate.
both times i went were in the fall and the creek had lots of overgrown weeds.
im not sure if it would be navigable. maybe in the spring.

Don't know how well you would do in a canoe, I would think that every 15-20ft you would have to get out and navigate around low spots, fallen trees etc..... Fishing is hit or miss, gate is locked because it is private property so access is not always possible.

If you know of any other ways to get into the lake, please send me a PM. I went up there last year and couldn't figure out how to get to the lake without trespassing. I'm not sure why the ministry stocks these lakes that are mostly surrounded by private property. One would think that the ministry should only stock lakes on crown land?

The entrance off of 511 has always been through private land but people have used it forever. I've never heard of the gate being locked but it could be at times I guess. It was busy enough last time I was in there last summer. Good luck

Cheers

It's because of the people that leave there trash behind and go in there to party all weekend, not fish. Ruins it for the rest of us......

Damn lazy bastards really burn my butt. I mean, what's the big deal to take your own junk out. Idiots.
But there is no private land on the lake itself so I don't think that's the reason here.
Cheers

Who can blame him with all the B.S that goes on in there. He is not a fisherman and does not like all the trash left behind not to mention the cutting down of his trees. He is thinking of keeping that gate locked this spring.

I would be doing the same exact thing. People don't want to respect his property I don't blame the lad one bit. Very small percentage of people that ruin it for everyone else, this is going to happen more frequently with those kind of lakes, sad but true

there is a trail that leads into it from the big power lines as well, i found it by accident and probably couldn't do it again but it is possible.
went in with a jeep and a full size pick up, way better suited to an atv or snowmobile though.
