Giving a "bump" to an older topic. Anyone have experience ice fishing for splake on Indian Lake?

The MNR stocks a good number of them in there.
From my experience ice fishing smaller stocked lakes, splake tend to behave more like brook trout and I usually catch them in less than 16 ft and as shallow as 3-4 ft. Anyone know if they behave the same here, or if they would be found in deeper water?
Also, does anyone know of public access to the lake? I've only fished it a couple times in the summer months for bass and have accessed the lake from Brown's Marina.
Cheers!

Fisherman89,
I have not fished Indian Lake in the winter but I believe public access might be limited during the winter. Check your messages.

Interesting topic, I too have wondered about Indian Lake for ice fishing - it seems my list of "places I want to try" always seems to get longer and longer - I do LOVE this area!!!! You can fish twice a week for the rest of your life and never hit the same place twice!
As for Splake - I agree that they can hit like brookies when they are smaller. But the larger they get the more they hit like lakers, giving long chases from deeper water.

Good question...Does anybody know how the ice is on this lake? Any areas to avoid...I was thinking of contacting indian lake marina as they have been helpful in the past with access, although it was $$ (approx $50 for the day). If I were to access in that area, does anybody know how the ice would be?
Thanks!
