I have been offered a 60 HR Johnson motor and controls from the 60"s he says it ran last year but has a problem with the controls is this a common thing for older Johnson's and are parts hard to find. It wont start now.

I have a 1967, 40 hp Johnson. I have not had problems with the controls. As for replacement parts your local UAP/NAPA dealer can order in many parts from thier marine catalogue. Generally at quite good prices.
