Muskrat Lake
I was out on Muskrat Lake today fishing for lakers. Saw a few boats, one yellow kayak, maybe yak attack?
The water temp was 50 ish, and very dirty with lots of old bull rush stocks and what not floating.
I had one upside the boat but spit the lure out at me, never saw or heard of one being caught.
I will return...

I was indeed me in the yellow yak
I think I saw you as well Bobby Shimano....red boat, yes? You guys were booting around to different hot spots I think. By the way, we were racing.
Yeah, lots of debris suspended in the water column - made it difficult to make sense of the info on the fishfinder. I trolled for over 4 hours -- I caught bottom once, but nary a bite was had. It's hard to learn how to fish for a species that's so hard to catch!
Beautiful day though, it was great to be out on the water again.

Ive got Viagara if ya need it? expensive though? LOL
I will be at Muskrat for the rest of the week fishing, and if anyone is interested in tagging along let me know. I am open to all kinds of fishing techniques, so if you have something that works we can do that, other than that I am a troller with dipsy divers. Always wanting to learn.
No booze, No smoking, and prescription drugs only...

Download "PIXresizer" to reduce the file size quick and easy.
It's free, and super simple to use.
The water levels are high on Muskrat like most other places. That might be effecting the Lakers. I live in Cobden, and haven't heard of anyone catching anything this year. Plus, they don't taste very good because they feed on smelt. Most locals fish for food, and stay away from the trout.

I was out there too on Sunday. My brother had 5 hits and one was pretty nice but he couldn't get it to the boat. He was using a cleo and at one point flipped to an old old spoon that was fluted like a washboard. I have no idea what it was. I missed a few but got a 4 lb laker and a 4.5 lb smally which unfortunately didn't have much fight in it because of the cold temps but what a lunker! Overall it was a beautiful first day. It seemed early in the morning they were up above 20' but by afternoon they'd dropped to 30-40 FOW. I was using a williams whitefish at a depth of about 12', something flashy enough to attract them off the ledges.
Cheers
