yes wolfe..there some drain holes in some almost all sit on top kayaks..water goes true it weird hey.

so some waves come over the kayaks fill it up then it drain by itself.cool.

this is full almost all sit on top kayaks.

look here its a wilderness tarpon.

see those holes you see in the bottom 4 in the frone part and 2 in the back..you can see true the kayak those little holse are scupper holes..water goes true there..

but wen people are heavy sometime a bit off water can get in by there to but not mutch and only if you are heavy.

you can plug to for them..in my tarpon i do put plug becasue for myself dont need that safety.

some off them have them..ex only off mine as some the 3 others dont.

its good to go on the oceans...that way water that goes over the side and into the kaysk just drain out.

or if you flip..just flip back the kayak and go back on and the water will drain...this is a good thing about sit on top.

but for me..i dont care for those holes.i plug them.

dont worry...i am heavy and not mutch goes in..not even one inch in the bottom part mabe 2 pints off water and none wen i put plug.

mabe i should have talk about scupper plug..but this is a great feature for the sit on top kayak so.


a lot off people that are over 250 and even 300 and some a lot more kayak fish witout any prob.

its a sport for all.

and a lot off kayak that as scupper plug and people over 280 pound can go on and have no water at al in it.


have to say a kayak is a water sport..so might have a bit off water.

Joco, you're a wealth of info. I had no idea some kayaks had holes or that you could stand up as well. I'm definitely going to try some kayaks this summer. Maybe we can get together and you can try my pontoon boat.

That's quite the set of links you have there Joco.

I grew up with a Canoe/Kayak, both are my favorite to fish from.
I am in the middle of a battle with myself about which to get, whether a Kayak or a Canoe. I'll probably opt for a Canoe so that I can do some camping and such.

The problem though is that once you get a Canoe, then you need to get a roof rack.........

wolfe Lake is a nice lake to kayak on and so is bob's lots of quiet lagoons on bobs.
